Positive Food Leadership – finally? June 17, 2009

Below is a video of Michelle Obama hosting an event on healthy eating and childhood nutrition. As the first First lady (redundant much?) to have a White House Garden since Eleanor Roosevelt’s “Victory Garden” 60 years ago, it is encouraging to see that she has a true understanding of how real food makes a difference for our youth.

My favorite quote? “If it’s fresh and grown locally, it’s probably going to taste better.” Kudos to our First Lady! On that note, I’m going to go pick myself some strawberries…I think I saw one or two red ones out there…
